Church - Tells What We Are
Faith Baptist Church is an Independent Baptist Church. What does "independent" mean? Although you may
have heard multiple definitions of the word, allow me to explain what it means here at Faith Baptist Church.
Being an independent church simply means that we are not governed, controlled, instructed, or ran by an
association, a convention, or any other governing body other than our own congregation of believers. In other
words, we use The Word of God as our only source of how to do business and conduct our activities. In case
you are wondering, we believe that is exactly the way Jesus Christ intended us to be when He started
the church. We also believe that is how the Apostle Paul instructed the churches that he helped to start.
We're also a "modern" or "contemporary" church. Now those are two words that you will definitely hear
different definitions of, especially when associated with churches. Again, allow me to explain what they mean
in association with Faith Baptist Church. We endeavor to use modern or contemporary methods to evangelize
the lost and disciple the believers. That simply means we are willing to try new methods and to change old
habits or traditions if it will help us accomplish our goal of fulfilling the Great Commission. It does not mean
that we are liberal. It does not mean we have changed the way we preach or teach. It just means that we are
dedicated to the task that our Lord has set before us.
At Faith Baptist Church, we have several goals. First and foremost is to share the love, forgiveness, and
salvation of our great Lord Jesus. We strive to lead everyone we meet into a loving relationship with Him.
Secondly, we strive to involve as many of our members in ministry as possible. Thirdly, we are always looking
to train new ministers for the full time work of the ministry. We believe that God has gifted everyone with
certain abilities, and that those abilities should be used to minister to others in the name of the Lord. As the
pastor of the church, I believe in pouring myself into others. I am always asking God to call our people into full
time ministry. One of my passions is training fellow Christians to do the work of an evangelist, a pastor, a
missionary, or any other full time capacity ministry. If this is the kind of culture you are looking for in a
church, then you have found it at Faith Baptist Church.
I just mentioned the "culture" of our church. We are constantly striving to create an culture or atmosphere in
which people feel welcome in our church at all times. We want everyone to feel as though they are family
from the time they walk in the front doors. At Faith Baptist Church, we are a family! Within our family we are
constantly creating an atmosphere that is encouraging, uplifting, and challenging! Where else can you find that
combination in the world?
Why should you visit or consider choosing Faith Baptist Church as your church home? That is a great question,
and one that is worthy of a great answer. We are not the only church around. We are not the largest church
around. We are not the only church that would be excited to have you as part of our family. However, what
makes the difference is that you are truly needed at Faith Baptist Church. If God leads you in our direction, it
will be one of our main priorities to be everything you need in a church as well as helping you find a way in
which you can serve God to your fullest potential!
